Delhi Panchayat Sangh Demands Boycott of Mayor Election Over Unfulfilled Tax Promises | Delhi News

New Delhi: Delhi Panchayat Sangh has criticised AAP in MCD for failing to waive the house tax for villages and requested the councillors from rural areas not to participate in the mayoral election. The Panchayat Sangh members said mayor Shelly Oberoi announced on Dec 2, 2023, that villages would be exempted from house tax.
However, despite the announcement, no steps were taken to implement the exemption, and villagers continue to receive tax notices. Panchayat Sangh president Thaan Singh Yadav said that villagers continue to be misled and ridiculed.
“The MCD notices for house tax collection is making villagers angry. We have raised the matter on various platforms. Now that nothing seems to have happened, we have urged councillors with rural backgrounds in AAP to boycott the upcoming mayoral election on Nov 14 in protest of the unfulfilled promise of house tax exemption for villages,” Yadav said.
There was no response from AAP on the issue. TNN
